Membrane fouling and fouling mitigation in oil–water separation: A review

چکیده

Oil–in–water emulsion separation is a challenging process in industries due to the large volumes of emulsified oil produced. Membrane technology has become more important treatment its high efficiency and straightforward operational procedure. Up now, microfiltration ultrafiltration are most utilized membrane processes for oil-in-water separation. However, deals with several problems. The presence flexible droplets creates fouling tendency as well reduction overall rejection membrane. These phenomena have attracted researchers develop antifouling strategies membranes, including materials engineering management. This review highlights current progression used oil-water started from perspectives, followed by discussion on mitigation during concluded future perspectives
